Chamber hires new assistant exec. director

CLEWISTON — The Clewiston Chamber of Commerce (CCOC) announces the addition of CyNedra Blake as its new assistant executive director. She will assist in general day-to-day operations, membership benefits and retention, in addition to member correspondences such as the chamber bulletin and newsletter. CyNedra’s role will become a very forward-facing position for the CCOC as she works with the executive director on chamber/community events and other special projects.

“The chamber board and staff are excited to welcome CyNedra to our team,” said Hillary Hyslope, executive director. “We are looking forward to working with CyNedra as we continue our efforts in helping to generate economic growth, increase tourism and expand our member benefits and advocacy efforts.”

A Florida native born in Jacksonville, Ms. Blake grew up spending summers and holidays in the Glades with her family. She recently participated in her second international missions trip visiting South Andros, Bahamas. Ms. Blake says, “These trips are a fulfilling experience of giving back to those less fortunate and help me to not take my blessings for granted.”

Ms. Blake and her son currently reside in South Bay and have been active members of that community. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and volunteering for her local church. She says, “The following statement describes my personality perfectly, I like to ‘sing like no one is listening and dance as if no one were watching.’”

Ms. Blake is working toward her degree in business management at Palm Beach State College. She hopes to bring that knowledge to the CCOC and work to grow chamber membership and finances.
