Mass to be held
CLEWISTON — St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 207 N. W.C. Owen Ave., will hold Christmas Eve family mass on Monday, Dec. 24, beginning at 6 p.m.

Shopping for kids set
LABELLE — Kiwanis Thrift Store,155 S. Bridge Street, will hold an event for children to do their own Christmas shopping for their parents , grandparents, and other family members. It will be on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. The store will be open just for children and they will be able to purchase quality gifts on a friendly budget. Please help them prepare by making a list and providing them with an allowance. They will be assisted by a Kiwanis member while the adults wait patiently outside. LaBelle High School Kiwanis Key Club and Kiwanis members will be wrapping each Christmas gift.

Chamber dinner scheduled
CLEWISTON — The Clewiston Chamber of Commerce will hold its 70th annual chamber dinner on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m. at the John Boy Auditorium, 1200 South W C Owen Ave. in Clewiston. For information, call 863-983-7979.

Elks host hoop shoot
CLEWISTON — The Clewiston Elks Lodge will host a Hoot Shoot, a free basketball competition for boys and girls ages 8 to 13, at the Clewiston Middle School gym, 601 W. Pasadena Ave. on Wednesday, Dec 5. Registration will begin at 4:30 p.m. and the contest will begin at 5 p.m. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Historian to speak
LABELLE — Heritage Museum, 1085 Pratt Blvd., will hold a program meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and there is no admission charge. Noted South Florida historian Cesar Alejandro Becerra will be the guest speaker.

“Town Hall” meeting
The public is invited to attend a “Town Hall” meeting at the Lawrence E. Will Museum of the Glades located at 530 S Main St., Belle Glade on Thursday, Nov. 10, at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be a presentation of research findings from recent archaeological investigations of a Precolumbian archaeological site located on property owned by Wedgworth Farms. Dr. William Locascio of Florida Gulf Coast University, will be the “Town Hall” meeting’s host.

Veterans Day Celebration
The public is invited to the Veteran’s Day Celebration presented by the Clewiston Middle School on Thursday, Nov. 10, at 9 a.m. in the Cafeteria. This is a free event. ‘Fringe Florida’
On Thursday, Nov. 10, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the Clewiston Museum will host guest speaker, Lynn Waddell, an award-winning journalist who has covered news in Florida for over 20 years. Lynn’s travels throughout Florida have given her an eye for the unusual, which has led to her critically acclaimed book, Fringe Florida. Free to the public. Drug Free Partnership meets
