County wide curfew lifted

HENDRY COUNTY — On September 14, the curfew was lifted for Hendry County effective immediately. The curfew was in place from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. for three days. The State of Emergency remains in effect.

“Although it has been lifted, keep in mind there is still a lot of debris, downed power lines and some flooding,” said Hendry County Sheriff Steve Whidden. “However, there are still areas without power and they will be patrolled heavily, along with our commercial zones.”

Hendry County had been under a curfew since Hurricane Irma hit Sunday, September 10.
