The Pearl Mae Foundation gives annual scholarships to Clewiston High School students who want to pursue careers in health care or first responder fields to help support the increased demands of the growing senior population.
The founder of Pearl Mae Foundation, Pearl Mae Kridler, was a Clewiston native and all of her children and grandchildren attended Clewiston High School. In 2017, only four CHS students applied and all four received funds.
Applications for the 2019 scholarships are now being accepted. The deadline to apply is March 31. Winners will be announced in mid-April.
All applicants must be seeking a career in the health care or first responder fields (nursing, pre-med track, emergency medical techician, firefighter, police officer, etc.) Graduate students are also encouraged to apply (physician’s assistant, medical doctor, nurse practitioner, or master’s in nursing).
Requirements for applications are:
• Must be accepted or enrolled at an accredited university or technical school;
• Supply two letters of recommendation;
