Cattlewomen’s Beef Cook-Off Aug. 25

CLEWISTON — The Hendry County Cattlewomen’s Association Beef Tailgate Cook-Off is coming up, and the group is seeking participants both to cook and judge the entries. Those interested are asked to let them know by registering to their event on Facebook or by email. The Beef Tailgate Cookoff is meant to help kick off college football season with the cookoff, a Tailgate Themed Silent Auction and an All About Beef Talk. Participants are asked to dress in their favorite team’s garb. The event will take place from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, with the Cookoff Kickoff at noon, the auction from 12:30 to 1:15, the All About Beef Talk at 1:20 and the Scoreboard Review at 2 p.m. A $45 entry fee covers a pair of cooks and includes the 2019 Cattlewomen’s local dues. There is a $10 fee to be a judge for both categories, which are Hendry County Cattlemen’s Leftover Ribeye, and Ground Beef, sponsored by Winn Dixie in LaBelle. The venue is the Dunwoody Lodge, 1909 Flaghole Road, Clewiston. Email for more information or to register.
