Committee celebrates Black History Month

CLEWISTON — The Harlem Building Trust Committee has chosen to celebrate Black History Month with a “special honor” to our public safety personnel. This commemorative month was mainly established to celebrate and honor the work of African-Americans. It signifies unity and recognition cutting across racial and geographical barriers. It therefore holds a very special position and importance in today’s world where the importance of highlighting the work and effort of every single citizen of the nation irrespective of his regional or national identity is honored and celebrated.

The theme for this event is “The Color of Criminal Justice … Celebrating Diversity & Unity.”

The Harlem Building Trust Committee invites the public to attend this program as we celebrate and honor Black History Month on Wednesday, Feb. 28, beginning at 6 p.m., at the Harlem Civic Center on Seventh Street in Clewiston.
