HARLEM — The Florida B. Thomas Library, 1010 J Harlem Academy Ave. in Harlem, will present the Smithsonian Poster Exhibit highlighting the history of migration in the United States from Sept. 1 to Sept. 30.
America and its history are a patchwork of many tales that have been woven over time from the voyages of people — both voluntary and involuntary — who traveled from city to city, state to state and around the world to find new opportunities. Whether by air, land or sea, travel has played a crucial part in our economic and cultural identities.
The Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES) presents “Journey Stories,” a set of seven posters designed to encourage dialogue, engagement and participation in classrooms and communities on how movement has defined America.
