HCSO Citizen’s Academy open

LABELLE — Come join the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office for the Sheriff’s Citizen’s Academy on Feb. 7 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. This FREE academy is available to those over the age of 18 and will be located at the Emergency Operation Center (4425 W. SR 80 & Congen Drive) in LaBelle.

The Sheriff’s Citizen’s Academy is a 10 week program with each session lasting about two hours. All participants must have a background free of felony and violent misdemeanor convictions.

Learn the latest trends and procedures in law enforcement to include: Patrol Procedures, Criminal Investigations, Crime Scene & Fingerprinting Techniques, Narcotics Identification, Gangs, Special Operations, Arrest & Handcuffing Procedures, Youth Relations, Jail Tour, and Community Programs. This instruction provides its participants with the latest trends and procedures in law enforcement as well as the duties and responsibilities of the various departments.
