Officials urge residents to prepare

LABELLE — Hendry County officials have declared a state of emergency for the area in response to the impending threat of Hurricane Irma effective 5 p.m., September 5.

Residents are urged to prepare for possible impacts from the hurricane beginning in the early morning hours Saturday. Preparations include ensuring yard debris is cleared, loose items are secured and all emergency kits are updated. It is suggested that you have enough water and food supply to last you and your family three days.
