LABELLE — Hendry County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) will hold a workshop to discuss potential amendments to the Hendry County zoning and land use regulations in the Land Development Code and Comprehensive Plan. The workshop will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. on Feb. 28 prior to the regularly scheduled business meeting in the Commission Chambers at the Hendry County Courthouse in LaBelle.
The workshop will review the 2017 draft list of land use changes and will obtain input and recommendations from the BOCC and the public. The workshop is part of an ongoing effort to update the County’s land use regulations. This effort is in response to current demands and future markets.
The workshop will review a completed list of priority items from 2015 and 2016. Some of the nonpriority items from that list that were not completed may be moved to the 2017 list.
The workshop will discuss specific issues that are related to individual communities throughout Hendry County. These issues were presented and discussed at the Local Planning Agency (LPA) Meeting on Feb. 8. The LPA will present recommendations it has for moving to create sustainable development.
For those who cannot attend the meeting will be streamed live on Hendry County’s Facebook, and will be available for future viewing on the County’s website.
