Hurricane Irma shelters in Hendry County

Shelters for those who need it during the event of Hurricane Irma will be open Friday, September 8, beginning at 3 p.m. on both sides of the County. Initial shelters will be LaBelle Middle School and Clewiston High School. If needed, other shelters will be opened across the County and will be named at a later time. If you plan to move to a shelter, please take three days of food and water for you and any loved ones you are taking with you to the shelter.

• Clewiston High School, 1501 Francisco St, Clewiston

• LaBelle Middle School, 8000 E Cowboy Way, LaBelle

• Special Needs Shelter – West Glades School, 2500 S Co Rd 731 SW, LaBelle

The special needs shelter will open at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 8. Persons in need must have a caretaker with them while staying at the shelter.

Please take enough food and water for three days.
