Libraries offer free tutoring

CLEWISTON — A free after-school tutoring program is being offered at your local Hendry County Library branches for children in first through fifth grades. Pre-registration for students is required, and seating is limited. Please note each location’s day(s) and time(s) when the program will take place. Florida B. Thomas Library, 1010 J Harlem Academy Ave., on Mondays, 3:30-5:30 p.m. Clewiston Public Library, 120 W. Osceola Ave., on Mondays and Thursdays, 4-6 p.m., beginning Monday, Oct. 15. This will be a 26-week program with an anticipated ending date of May 9, 2019.

The Clewiston Library is still currently seeking one tutor. If interested, please call or stop in for an application. The Clewiston Library is also seeking high school volunteers to assist with the program and earn their community service hours while doing
