Work to resume on Helms Road Extension

LABELLE — Construction on Phases 3, 4, and 5 of Helms Road Extension in Hendry County will begin on Monday, November 27.

Helms Road Extension is to remain CLOSED and traffic is NOT permitted on Helms Road Extension until the project is completed.

The contractor, Ajax Paving, will be back on site beginning Nov. 27 and the safety of both workers and the public is the number one priority; therefore, the public are asked that they NOT travel through this work zone until the project is completed.

Phases 3, 4, and 5 of the project consist of a sidewalk, multi-use path and the addition of the northern two lanes (for a total of four travel lanes) of the Helms Road Extension from State Road 80 to State Road 29.

Helms Road is projected to be completed and open in late September 2018.
