Captain Liam Drew retires from HCSO Explorer Post 642

On Monday, July 9, Capt. Liam Drew retired from Hendry County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 642. Capt. Drew became a member of the HCSO Explorer Post March 16, 2012.

Capt. Drew addressed members of the post explaining the importance of the skills they will learn and friendships they will form. “I have made many friends, a couple of enemies and an ocean of memories…but it has become bittersweet for me to say that the time has come for me to move on.”

Capt. Drew rose through the ranks and was promoted to the position of Sergeant in September 2015, Lieutenant in September 2016, Captain in February 2017 and became the Commander of HCSO Post 642 in August 2017.

Liam will be completing his AS at Florida Southwestern College in August of 2018 and will receive his AS in Criminal Justice. In September of 2018, he will begin attending the South West Florida Public Service Academy and upon completion of the academy he will become a law enforcement officer with the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office. He will follow in the footsteps of his father who is a law enforcement officer.
