Girl Scouts learn to prepare

Hendry County Emergency Management and the Florida Department of Health in Hendry County teamed up on Thursday, Nov. 1, to educate Girl Scout troop 1017 about preparedness. EM Director, Rick Lehmkuhl, and FDOH Public Information Officer and planning/preparedness coordinator, Brenda Barnes, facilitated a tour of the Emergency Operations Center. The Girl Scout troop learned about preparing for all hazards such as hurricanes, floods, fires and pandemics.
