Roland & Mary Ann Martin Marina has been involved with the FLW for the past 22 years. This year it will host the Costa FLW Series with a first place prize of $60,000. Over 500 anglers are expected to participate and can be expected to have an average of five fish.
“We will have 250 boats which will be 500 anglers,” said Ramon Iglesias, Manager Roland & Mary Ann Martin Marina. “As usual, we are at a full field and the events for FLW on Lake Okeechobee always bring the highest number of entries over any other lake.”
People began arriving early last week in preparation for the Costa FLW Series. Each year this event generates over a million dollar impact on the economy in Hendry County, and the consistent fishing tournaments on Lake Okeechobee over the years are a statement to the quality of water in the lake.
“We enjoy the opportunity to host events with FLW, the world’s largest tournament-fishing organization. Lake Okeechobee is our greatest natural asset and we are always looking for more opportunities to be able to share its beauty and bounty with fisherman across the country,” said Electa Waddell, TDC Director.
