Hendry Regional Medical Center opens new medical office building

CLEWISTON — On Wednesday, April 19 Hendry Regional Medical Center (HRMC) opened phase I of a new medical office building. The brand new facility is located in Clewiston at 525 West Sagamore Avenue.

The new building is 7,300 square feet. Phase I, which is now open, is 4,300 square feet and offers residents physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy services. Phase II, which is expected to open in May, will house two medical offices. The Orthopedic offices of Dr. Stephen A. Purvis, DO, will be located in the new facility. The other medical office has been designated for future expansion.

”Hendry Regional Medical Center is pleased to be opening a new facility in Clewiston to allow us to better serve the residents of Hendry and Glades Counties” stated R.D. Williams, Chief Executive Officer. The $1.9 million project started construction in November 2016. The HRMC Foundation worked tirelessly over three years to raise over $900,000 for the construction of the new medical office building. The HRMC Foundation WISH group (Woman Involved in Supporting the Hospital) raised an additional $61,000 funding the equipment and furnishings for the facility. All funds were raised through the generosity of the local community. Hendry Regional Rehabilitative Services offers therapy programs customized for your unique physical capabilities and challenges. Staff provides hands-on, compassionate care designed to evaluate and treat problems affecting mobility and function.

Offices are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Residents can schedule an appointment today at the new Clewiston location by calling 863-983-0100 or at the LaBelle office, 450 South Main Street, by calling 863-675-6600.

Naming opportunities for the facility are still available. Interested parties may call 863-983-2735 for more information. An open house for the community to view the facility is being scheduled, and more information will be provided when available.
