Operation Medicine Cabinet

CLEWISTON — Florida Department of Health, Hendry County; Drug Free Hendry County; Drug Free Collier County; and K&M Drugs will host Operation Medicine Cabinet this Saturday, April 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m at K&M Drugs (near First Bank), 340 E. Sugarland Hwy., Clewiston. Refreshments will be provided.

A prescription for safe kids and a clean environment are:

DO: Take unused or expired prescriptions and over-the-counter medication to K&M Drugs, 340 E. Sugarland Hwy., Clewiston on April 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Phone number 863-983-7277. Hendry County Sheriff’s Office has a permanent medicine drop for unused and expired medicine located at their main site in LaBelle. Medicine can be brought in plastic bags with no names.

DO: Lock up all medications and keep away from children and teens.

DON’T: Flush medication down the toilet – it is a danger to our environment.

DON’T: Bring needles or other “sharps” – they cannot be accepted.
