FT MYERS — What surely is a sign that the economy in Southwest Florida has recovered is the first annual Regional Career Fair on May 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (closed noon – 1 p.m.) at Alico Arena on FGCU campus.
“This event was sold out a month ago” said Joe Paterno Executive Director of CareerSource Southwest Florida. “It’s an amazing opportunity for anyone who is un-employed, under-employed, looking for a career change or new to the area. We will also identify businesses that are interested in internships and summer employment. Think about it…75 of Southwest Florida most prestige’s employers, over a 100 area recruiters looking to talk about hundreds of career opportunities; all happening on one day, under one roof, that’s truly amazing”, said Paterno.
“This is a shining example of education, businesses and government working together in promoting careers and economic development within Southwest Florida” said Wilson G. Bradshaw Ph.D., FGCU President and Chairman of the Alliance of Educational Leaders.
“We are kind of a sleeping giant and are excited at the opportunity to showcase some of the various career opportunities available at U.S. Sugar” said Matt Kindermann, U.S. Sugar Recruiter.
