The Great American Smokeout observed on Nov. 15

Nov.15, is The Great American Smokeout! Thousands of Americans will take the first step to quit smoking. The Florida Department of Health’s Tobacco Free Florida program is encouraging Florida smokers to make a plan to quit using the program’s free resources.

Tobacco Free Florida provides FREE tools and services, including nicotine replacement therapy (nicotine patches, gum and lozenges) and assistance creating a personalized quit plan.

The Great American Smokeout is an opportune time to share the following life-saving information that can help your audience quit tobacco:

• Floridians can call the quitline at 1-877-U-CAN-NOW (1-877-822-6669)

• More than 212,000 Floridians have successfully quit tobacco using Tobacco Free Florida’s free resources.
