A Clewiston woman was arrested earlier this month and charged with two counts leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage and one count failing to stop at crash involving injury.

Candy Odom, 43, was arrested on Dec. 1 after she allegedly crashed into two vehicles the night before and did not stop, according to a report released by the Clewiston Police Department.

The accidents occurred on Nov. 30 at around 6:26 p.m.

Odom was reportedly driving a gray 2004 Ford Taurus eastbound on West Aztec Avenue when she allegedly hit an oncoming pickup truck. The driver of the red 2009 Ford F250 tried to wave Odom down, but Odom reportedly continued driving.

Odom then turned right onto Olympia Street and reportedly struck another oncoming car, which tried to swerve to avoid a collision. Odom continued driving and did not stop, according to the report.

The driver of the gray 1977 Chevy sedan was transported to Hendry Regional Medical Center due to a fractured forearm.

It is estimated the Chevy sedan received $10,000 worth of damage, while the Ford pickup truck received $1,000 worth of damage. Odom’s own car reportedly received about $10,000 worth of damage.

The driver of the Ford F-250 reportedly took note of Odom’s license plate number as she drove from the scene and police arrested her the next day on charges of leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage and failing to stop at a crash involving injury.

Odom was booked in the Hendry County Jail and released the same day on $4,500 bond.

According to the report, the accident was not believed to be alcohol-related.
