Clewiston woman died in Osceola County crash

Cecilia Morales Carballer, 69, of Clewiston, succumed to injuries she received on Sunday, Sept. 16, when she was ejected from an SUV that she was a passenger in.

A Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) press release stated that at 11:30 a.m. a 2001 Lincoln SUV operated by Laura Bueno, 30, of Clewiston, was traveling northbound on the Florida turnpike.

At mile marker 211 in Osceola County the SUV suffered a tire tread separation and the driver lost control of the SUV. The SUV overturned as it left the roadway.

Ms. Bueno and a passenger, Brittney Bueno, 5, of Clewiston, received minor injuries.

The crash remained under investigation at the time of the press release.

It was reported that Ms. Bueno and Ms. Carballer were not wear seat belts. Brittney was wearing a seat belt.

The crash was investigated by Trooper Kartanowitz and Homicide Investigator Corporal Rodriguez.
