Driver flees scene of crash near Montura

A driver fled the scene of a single-car crash Christmas morning near Montura Ranch, Florida Highway Patrol reports.

The accident occurred at around 6:33 a.m. on Dec. 25.

Highway patrol reports a 2003 Buick CXL was traveling northbound on County Road 833 near the intersection of Pine Cone Avenue when the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle reportedly went off the road and struck a guardrail on the east side, before crossing the roadway a second timeĀ and overturning into a ditch on the westside of theĀ road.

Crews reportedly found the vehicle on its roof partially submerged in a ditch within a small group of trees.

The driver is reported to have fled the scene of the crash and has not yet been identified.
