Hendry County Sheriff’s Office arrests 19 in drug roundup

19 individuals were arrested in Hendry County on various drug charges as part of a drug roundup conducted by Hendry County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit.

A ten-month-long investigation by the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Narcotics Unit culminated in the arrests of more than a dozen men and women on April 9.

HCSO reports that 19 of 24 wanted individuals, including a 16-year-old boy, were arrested on drug charges last Thursday. With the help of uniformed road patrol deputies, the narcotics unit arrested 12 men and seven women on charges including sale and possession of cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamine and prescription medication.

HCSO said more arrests are pending.

The following men and women were arrested during the drug roundup operation:

-Jerald Sims, 43, was arrested and charged with two counts of sale of cocaine within 1000 feet of a church; two counts of sale of cocaine within 1000 feet of a church; six counts of possession of cocaine with intent to sell; sale of cocaine. Sims is currently being held in the Hendry County Jail on $220,000 bond.

-April Dailey, 56, was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of prescription medicine with intent to sell; three counts of sale of prescription medicine; two counts of sale of marijuana; and two counts of possession of marijuana with intent to sell. Dailey is currently being held in the Hendry County Jail on $71,500 bond.

-Lajuan Simmons, 26, was arrested and charged with two counts of sale of marijuana; and two counts of possession of marijuana with intent to sell. Simmons is currently being held in the Hendry County Jail on $30,000 bond.

-Donnie Keller, 48, was arrested and charged with one count possession of prescription medicine with intent to sell within 1000 feet of a school and one count sale of prescription medicine within 1000 feet of a school. Keller is currently being held in the Hendry County Jail on $30,000.00 bond.

-Salvador Lopez, 26, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine; possession of prescription medicine; possession of drug paraphernalia. Lopez was released on $10,000 bond.

-Luis Velasquez Jr., 26, was arrested and charged with one count sale of cocaine and possession of cocaine with intent to sell. Velasquez was released on $5,000 bond.

-Brandon Caulkins, 25, was arrested and charged with one count of sale of cocaine within 1000 feet of a school; one count possession of cocaine with intent to sell within 1000 feet of a school; sale of prescription medicine within 1000 feet of a school; and possession of prescription medicine with intent to sell within 1000 feet of a school. Caulkins was released on $40,000 bond.

-Ruby Williams, 58, was arrested and charged with four counts of sale of cocaine within 1000 feet of a public park and four counts of possession of cocaine with intent to sell within 1000 feet of a public park. Williams is currently being held on $180,000 bond.

-Ulysses Williams, 38, was arrested and charged with nine counts of sale of cocaine within 1000 feet of a public park and nine counts of possession of cocaine with intent to sell within 1000 feet of a public park. Williams is currently being held on $395,000 bond.

-Nekisha Vasser, 37, was arrested and charged with 11 counts of sale of cocaine within 1000 feet of a public park; possession of cocaine with intent to sell within 1000 feet of a public park. Vasser is currently being held on $460,000 bond.

-Nakia McMullen, 32, was arrested and charged with two counts of sale of cocaine within 1000 feet of a public park and two counts of possession of cocaine with intent to sell within 1000 feet of a public park. McMullen is currently being held on $115,000 bond.

-Billy Smith, 43, was arrested and charged with sale of cocaine within 1000 feet of a public park; possession of cocaine with intent to sell within 1000 feet of a public park; and resisting arrest without violence. Smith was released on a $62,000 bond.

-Santiago Bustamante, 49, was arrested and charged with trafficking drugs and possession of narcotic with intent to sell. Bustamonte was released on a $75,000 bond.

-Rana Broussard, 35, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Broussard was released on $5,000 bond.

-Dennis Graham, 54, was arrested and charged with two counts of sale of cocaine within 1000 feet of a public park and two counts of possession of cocaine within 1000 feet of a public park. Graham is currently being held in the Hendry County Jail without bond.

-Gregory Pitts, 39, was arrested and charged with five counts of sale of cocaine within 1000 feet of church and five counts of possession of cocaine within 1000 feet of church. Pitts is currently being held without bond.

-Amy Ferguson, 47, was arrested and charged with two counts of sale of controlled substance and two counts of possession of controlled substance with intent to sell. Ferguson was released on a $25,000 bond.

-Rosie Clos, 31, was arrested and charged with one count of sale of prescription medicine and possession with intent to sell prescription medicine. Clos was released on $51,000 bond.

-Felix Quinones, 16, was arrested and charged with one count of sale of cocaine and possession of cocaine. Quinones was released to his guardian.
