Hendry County Sheriff’s Office Deputy arrested

HENDRY COUNTY – Sheriff Whidden announced on Tuesday, Dec. 13, that Hendry County Sheriff’s Sergeant Robert Archer was arrested and booked, by FDLE, into the Hendry County Jail on three misdemeanor counts of perjury when not in an official proceeding and one count of official misconduct in public agency, which is a felony.
This development results in Sgt. Archer’s change in status with Hendry County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) to administrative leave without pay pending the outcome of the charges. Once the court case is disposed of, HCSO will conduct an internal investigation into the allegations to determine any policy violations and disciplinary actions warranted.
Sergeant Archer maintains his innocence and should be afforded the same constitutional rights as any other citizen; that he is innocent until proven guilty.
