One dead, one injured in Clewiston mobile home park shooting

A woman was found injured and a man dead in the Tropical Mobile Home Park after deputies responded to reports of a shooting Sunday night, the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) reports.

The incident occurred at around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 12.

Deputies arrived on scene to find 48-year-old Angela Sutton lying on the ground with gunshot wounds to the face and arm area, a press release issued by HCSO states.

Deputies reportedly found 70-year-old Paul Sutton nearby with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced deceased on the scene by Emergency Medical Personnel.

Angela Sutton was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.

HCSO is continuing to investigate any circumstances that may have led to the shooting.

Angela Sutton works as a school bus driver in Clewiston for the Hendry County School District. Assistant Superintendent Larry Worth spoke on behalf of the school district and said they were praying for Ms. Sutton’s recovery.

“We’re very sorry something like this happened,” said Mr. Worth.
