Three men were arrested in connection with an armed robbery that occurred Dec. 17 on West Aztec Avenue.
De Javeyon Renard Gray, 23, of Clewiston; Ke-ante Qua-nard Skinner, 21, of Clewiston; and Johan Wendon Holder, 19, of Clewiston, were arrested Dec. 17 on multiple charges, including robbery with a firearm and grand theft.
The three men are accused of holding a 20 year old at gunpoint outside his girlfriend’s house and robbing him of cash and jewelry, an arrest report released by the Clewiston Police Department states.
The victim called police at about 6:21 p.m. to report the incident, which occurred about 30 minutes beforehand, according to the report.
The victim reportedly told police an orange Dodge Caliber pulled into his girlfriend’s yard and he went outside to talk to the three men inside. The victim said he knew all three of them because they went to school together.
The victim said that Gray, who was reportedly sitting in the front passenger seat, asked if he could borrow some basketball shoes. The victim said he went inside the house but “had a bad feeling” and went back outside to tell Gray he did not have any.
That is when the victim reported both Gray and Holder, who was reportedly driving the car, pulled out handguns and demanded the victim give them a gold chain he wore around his neck. The victim said he gave the men his gold chain and about $200 worth of cash before backing away from the car and running into the house.
The gold chain, which had a Virgin Mary medallion and gold cross hanging on it, was valued at about $1,400, according to the report.
A short time later, police stopped a car matching the description the victim gave to police. The victim reportedly identified two of the three men accused of robbing him, including Gray and Holder, who were arrested and brought to the police station for questioning.
Skinner was reportedly found later at a home on East Ventura Avenue where he was arrested and brought in for questioning.
Holder, Gray and Skinner were charged with robbery with a firearm, grand theft, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of marijuana under 20 grams and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
Holder is currently being held in the Hendry County Jail on $100,000 bond, Gray is being held on $90,000 bond and Skinner is being held on $94,000 bond.
