Two men jailed on grow house charges

On May 13, 2016, Hendry County Sheriff’s Office obtained a narcotics search warrant for a home on Everhigh Acres Road in Clewiston.
On May 16, 2016, after conducting surveillance on the home HCSO Investigators made contact with two Hispanic males occupying the home.
The two males were identified as 54-year-old Cildo Chavez and 29-year-old Rafael Iglesias-Delgado.
Once investigators presented and read the warrant they entered the home.
Once inside they located an indoor marijuana grow house as well as equipment to run it. There were 26 large budding plants found.
Both Delgado and Chavez were arrested on charges of Marijuana Producing, Marijuana Trafficking, and Drug Equipment Possession. Delgado and Chavez were taken to the Hendry County Jail.
On May 17, 2016, after representatives from Glades Electric inspected the power pole and meter at the above home, Glades Electric are pressing charges of Grand Theft on both Delgado and Chavez for power diversion created to power the indoor grow house.
Delgado and Chavez are being held at the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office on a $235,000 bond each.
