Drop everything and read

One of the top two winners was Josefina Hurtado’s advertisement poster.

CLEWISTON — Clewiston Middle School is asking our community to join us as we Drop Everything and Read on Wednesday, Jan. 25.

The  school will celebrate Literacy during the week of Jan. 23 – 27.

As one of the activities,  students made advertisement posters to ask the community members, especially  local businesses, to stop and read a good book for at least 5-10 minutes anytime during work hours.

One of the top two winners was Alisia Perez’s advertisement poster.

The school asks employers to take pictures of employees reading. Then, email photos  to pereraa@hendry-schools.net. The school will make a slide show of the community reading during Family Literacy Night held Thursday, Jan. 26 starting at 6 p.m.
