Clewiston girls’ soccer team also defeated Jensen Beach 4-1 last week. Allison had three goals and Bella Perez added a goal for Clewiston High School. Jaylynn Moreno had an assist. Roth had 11 saves in the net for the Tigers, (4-0).

Coach Keri Alford said she is really pleased with the start of the new season. “These ladies have great potential if they work together and leave everything on the field.” Alford praised Assistant Coach Ricky Martinez for the work he has done with individual players to improve their skills.

“He works with them on ball control, first touch and passing. If they can perfect these things as a unit the potential of the girls is promising,” she added.

The Lady Tigers basketball team fell at home 50-36 to Lincoln Park Academy in a district game on Friday, Nov. 18.

Sophia Connolly returned to the lineup from injury for the Tigers.

Coach Alicia Bradberry said it was a tough loss and the Tigers will probably face LPA again in the district title game.

“We are still meshing our new freshmen with our veteran back court. There were many positive things that came from this game. We cut down on the mistakes we made in the preseason and this group is quick to learn.”

The Tigers also did a good job beating the Lady Greyhound press.

Bradberry said the girls need to stay positive and work together in future games, “We have to remember that we must stay together and work together to become better together to achieve our goals,” she said.
