CHS competes in Triton Cross Country Invitational

The Tiger cross country team competed well at the Triton Cross Country Invitational hosted by Mariner High School on Sept. 17.

The Clewiston High School Cross Country team competed on Saturday at Mariner High.

The boys squad finished in 13th place and the Lady Tigers finished in 18th place.

The boys were led by DJ Adams who finished in 20:37 and finished in 59th place. Troy Evans finished in 20:48 to finish 62nd, Caleb Boyer in 21:16 to finish 76th, and Javier Del Rosario finished in 21:51 to take 85th place.

Other finishers included Jose Rios, 21:51, 86th and Joel McCray in 22:28, 97th place.

The winner of the boys race was Joshua Wagner of Lely High School who finished in 17:04. Twenty-one schools competed in the boys 5,000 meter race. The team champion was Fort Myers High.

The junior varsity boys had two representatives in the race. Juan Puentes finished in 22:24 and Juan Moran in 22:30. Evan Seech of Fort Myers High won the race in a time of 18:36. Fort Myers High also won the junior varsity race.

The girls varsity race was won by Kelsi Ogilvie of Lemon Bay High in a time of 19:50. Fort Myers was the team champion.

Clewiston was paced by Katelyn Bryant who finished in 36th place with a time of 24:24. Guadalupe Almaras finished in 73rd place with a time of 27:48. Other finishers included Ciara Igelesias in 34:03, Maritza Valdez in 35:02, and Madisyn Thomley in 35:27.

The junior varsity race was won by Ashley Collins of Fort Myers. Clewiston did not have any runners in the girls junior varsity race.
