Clewiston girls basketball team makes regional

CLEWISTON — Clewiston girls again reached the Class 5A regional playoffs as they finished runner up in District 11 this season.

Lincoln Park Academy of Fort Pierce defeated the Lady Tigers on Feb. 2 in the District Title game.

Lincoln Park (17-4) got 24 points from Christen McCann, including four three point baskets. Leroyeisha scored 16 points. Clewiston was paced by Shakayla Hankins with 13 points and Kayman Robinson with seven points.

LPA was in control throughout the championship game. The Lady Greyhounds led 18-4 after the first quarter and 35-15 at halftime. They pushed the lead to 59-22 after the third quarter.

LPA defended their district title and defeated Clewiston for the third time this year.

The Lady Tigers (9-11) will face Oxbridge Academy of West Palm Beach in the regional playoff game on Thursday, Feb. 9, in West Palm Beach.
